Clients
Payment and Rates
What is the best way to pay?
The majority of our freelancers are already set up as Limited Companies and charge a daily rate. Media Recruitment will simply bill according to received timesheets separately. However, some clients prefer Media Recruitment to pay the candidate. In this instance, you would receive a weekly or monthly invoice which will include the consultant’s rate (based on approved timesheets) and our fee, which would include the addition of Employers EI (currently based at 11.8%).
Daily rates
Daily rates vary, although can be slightly higher than that of the equivalent salary. In the main, this is because a freelancer will usually be over qualified for the role and able to come in and ‘hit the road running’. The higher rate is also a compensation for the lack of employee benefits.
An alternative method of pay includes: Pro-rata payments. This is particularly applicable if the candidate is filling a 'fixed term' or specific contract and pay can be applied through the client PAYE system. In this instance Media Recruitment would charge a one off fee at the start of the contract period.
